Steve Black, Arthur McKenzie

Steve Black started his professional life as a bouncer but once working on the doors of boozers in Newcastle became too violent he took a Sports Science degree and embarked upon a career in sport. He's the professionals' fitness guru non pareil and has worked with Newcastle United,F ulham and Sunderland but it's been rugby where he's really made his mark. Currently conditioning coach with the Newcsatle Falcons, the development of Jonny Wilkinson's physique over the past eight years stands as his greatest achievement but he's also worked with the Welsh national side and the 2001 Lions with startling results. As well as driving his charges to improve themselves, he's become a confidant to a whole host of major sporting figures who relish his offbeat humour, which is prevalent here, the sincerity of his dedication and his fund of rich stories drawn from his remarkable journey
